Ever heard the saying, “Writing is an art, and not everyone is an artist?” But this company gave this phrase a new meaning. There are millions of young aspiring writers who day and night write their thoughts in their diaries. However, if given a potential platform, a lot of them have the potential to become India’s greatest writers.

There are many social media portals to publish your blogs and books nowadays. However, when it comes to professionally doing things and making your stories reach the book lovers without risk of piracy, BlueRose Publishers are a one-stop solution. They are a platform where you write; they help you publish and conclusively help you make millions.

BlueRose is a platform for the writing nerds who have created stories from their experiences, fiction as well as their visuals. They have helped millions of writers to spread their message via novels and other books to the general public.

Founded by Syed Arshad, he and the entire team of BlueRose believe that words hold power to change the world. And giving these passionate writers a platform to express their words can be the best they can do for the aspiring writers in the world.

However, not restricted to the publishing services, the company holds a sales team to support sales of the published books in the market.

What made you strike this business idea? What inspired you to start this company?
Syed Arshad
 – I have always believed that there is a story inside each one of us which deserves to be heard. Being a writer myself, I felt that there are so many restrictions in publication which makes the process tedious and makes people think twice before taking a step ahead in their career as a writer.BlueRose aims to provide end-to-end service to writers and make their fear of rejection go away.

When did you start your business?
Syed Arshad
We started BlueRose in 2012 by creating and contacting communities on social media portals, and later registered as a proprietorship firm in 2015.We registered as a private limited company in 2018.

What does success mean to your company?
Syed Arshad
Success is subjective. Creating and maintaining a platform that caters to authors all around the world is what we aim at, and we will be in a position to call ourselves a successful company when we truly reach every part of the world and partner with authors, providing them unmatchable deliverables.

How are you performing currently?
Syed Arshad
Our growth is evident. The company is alive and thriving. From a small team of two people to over fifty souls, from three authors a year to fifteen hundred authors a year, from a turnover of a few hundreds to about half a million dollars, it’s been a spectacular journey—a journey full of lessons, hardships, struggles, joy and moments that now define our lives.

What is the biggest risk to your company?
Syed Arshad
As long as you do honest business, there is no risk. The world needs stories, and it always will. We just need to be quick to catch up with the trends of telling it and we do.

What are your plans on funding?
Syed Arshad
We are in touch with a lot of investment companies that have shown interest in our model, and we are in constant communication with them to make it happen.

What is the biggest challenge you faced during your start-up setup?
Syed Arshad
The biggest challenge we faced as a start-up was that we had to make our brand known among the writing community, and make them aware of the publishing process with BlueRose. This was indeed a struggle as we had limited financial backup for any paid marketing strategy.

What does growth mean to you and your business?
Syed Arshad
Growth for BlueRose means expansion in business and becoming a one-stop shop for all writers across the world. We provide all kinds of platforms that a writer would like to explore. From being a publishing platform to providing a space for readers and reviewers, from opening a chain of reading lounges to conducting authors’ meets, BlueRose is doing it all.

How does your product stand different from others in the market?
Syed Arshad
We stand different from the rest not just in terms of the professionalism and creativity that our team puts into each project, but due to the fact that we stay in touch with our authors even after successfully completing the publishing process to help them market their stories better. Reasonable costing, flexible payment options, and that human touch in all business transactions – that’s all that makes us different, I believe.

Where are your start-up services spread?
Syed Arshad
We provide our services to authors all across the world. Anybody from any part of the world may contact and avail our services. We have authors not just from India, but also from countries like Canada, U.S.A., Australia, France, South Africa, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Nepal.

What does it feel to be the founder of your start-up? How does it feel
getting up every morning and getting on to work?
Syed Arshad
It is a huge responsibility, but thankfully, it doesn’t ever feel tiring. I just wish I could spend more time at work and complete everything that’s pending.

Where do you see your business standing in the next 5 years?
Syed Arshad
Right now, 90% of the writers we have are from India, and we are not quite active in other parts of the world. In the era of globalization, considering the growth path we are on, I believe we will open branches across several continents, serving the writing fraternity with our world-class services.

Who supports you to stand this business and how?

Syed Arshad  I manage the sales and marketing, and keep exploring better opportunities for widening the company’s reach. Khushboo Kaushik, the CEO, takes care of the expansion and finds new ways to accelerate the company’s growth. Asad Hassan, the managing director, heads the operations and explores systems to ease the process, both for the clients and the managers handling their projects.

With a management team like this and 50+ other employees over seeing the smoothness of our business transactions, I believe BlueRose is in safe hands.
