Capital-A, a venture capital firm focused on manufacturing and deep technology in India, has spearheaded a $750,000 pre-seed funding round in Quintrans, a deep-tech engineering startup working on indigenous direct-drive linear motion solutions for industrial automation, robotics, and advanced machinery.
The round also attracted participation from Sumeet Kabra of RR Global, SanchiConnect, AIC-Pinnacle, several strategic partners, and continued backing from IIMA Ventures, reinforcing strong ecosystem confidence in the company’s vision.
Building Precision Motion Systems, Made in India
Established by four MIT Pune alumni—Pranay Luniya, Kartik Kulkarni, Aniruddha Atigre, and Prasanna Kadambi—Quintrans is focused on designing and manufacturing electromagnetic and electromechanical linear motion systems that deliver high-speed operation, near-zero friction, and micron-level accuracy.
By keeping both design and manufacturing rooted in India, Quintrans aims to offer cost-effective solutions with faster customization, reliable after-sales support, and global-quality performance—strengthening India’s position in high-precision motion technologies.
Funding to Power Manufacturing and Commercial Readiness
The newly raised capital will be deployed to:
- Set up a dedicated manufacturing and advanced testing facility in Pune
- Accelerate research and development in electromagnetic actuation
- Expand the core engineering, production, and operations teams
- Prepare the platform for commercial-scale deployments
Addressing a Rapidly Growing Market
India produced approximately 6.8 million actuators in FY 2022, with projections indicating growth to 10–11 million units by FY 2026, driven by sectors such as automotive, industrial automation, HVAC, and marine engineering.
Quintrans’ long-term objective of manufacturing close to 500,000 actuators annually by 2030 positions it as a significant domestic alternative in a market traditionally led by international players like SMC, Festo, and LinMot.
Founders and Investors Share Their Vision
Pranay Luniya, Founder & CEO of Quintrans, said:
“Our goal is to create reliable, high-performance linear motion systems designed and built in India. We are deeply focused on engineering excellence—developing both hardware and control electronics in-house to provide customers with a fully integrated solution. This funding enables us to strengthen our R&D efforts, establish production capabilities, and move closer to commercial deployment. We appreciate Capital-A’s belief in a deep-tech journey that demands time and commitment.”
Ankit Kedia, Founder and Lead Investor at Capital-A, added:
“Motion control systems are mission-critical across industries, yet innovation from emerging markets has been limited. Quintrans stands out for its strong technical foundation and clear understanding of industrial requirements. Their progress so far indicates real commercial promise, and we see the company evolving into a trusted supplier in a segment long dominated by global OEMs.”
Part of a Growing Hardware Innovation Ecosystem
Quintrans is also a member of MaXcel, a hardware and industrial technology accelerator jointly operated by Capital-A and SanchiConnect, which supports startups building engineering-driven, manufacturing-focused solutions.
