The Jio Effect.”

Across the span of the last couple years, these three words have transformed the lives of millions of Indians. Moreover, it has generated endless opportunities in the Indian startup space. InUni, the startup we are discussing today is one of the prime examples to leverage one of the opportunities.

Due to “The Jio effect,” high-speed internet isn’t limited to the metro cities nowadays.

Hence, due to this penetration of the internet users from tier-1 to tier-3 cities, the number of people accessing the internet via ‘regional’ and ‘national’ languages surpassed those who accessed through ‘English’ language. And this very reason was the motivation behind the startup “InUni.”

What is InUni?

For the under-served market of regional users, InUni is a boon. InUni is a network of city-centric apps which brings the end-user closer to any individual city.

According to the co-founder of InUni, Shashank Rai, the regional user looks for content primarily in the genre of entertainment, news, and sports. And that’s where the InUni focuses.

InUni or In-Universe is a gateway to experience the city in real-time. Using InUni’s app of the city, one can access content like local & national news, entertainment, photos, etc. in the local language as well as national language.

About the app:

As of now, the app is available in the Google Play Store(sorry ios users). The app is entirely clutter-free and provides excellent UI/UX with easy swipes to access local content, entertainment, viral content, and national news.

With more than 18 languages, InUni covers 30+ cities. For every city available in the network, there is a different app. To download the app, one has to type the city name after “In” For, e.g., “InSurat” for Surat.

Conclusion:

A startup initiated by a team of two, i.e., Shashank Rai and his partner, is now growing fastly in terms of the team as well as network.

This startup story of InUni is an excellent example of grabbing opportunities. InUni has added a lot of value to the regional-language-internet-users. However, many other opportunities still lie in this under-served market.
