What made you strike this business idea? What inspired you to start this company?
Rajat – Hylyt came into being because of a personal experience. I was attending a convention and some information popped up on my mobile screen and I swiped it, thinking that I’ll come back later.Once I was back in the office the next day, I tried to find it but couldn’t find it. It got lost in all the information. On hindsight, I know I could have handled it better, something could have done about it but the thought it triggered and the door it opened was that there has to be a better way to manage such information that will work for people in this & any other situation. So, first I asked people if there is any solution that helps them manage information in such a situation? And I realized there is no such solution then I asked people if they need such a solution? Or was I the only one who thought this was a problem and I realized there are a lot of people who face the same situation and they wanted a solution! That’s how the journey of HyLyt started, to give a simple, easy & unified way for people to manage information from multiple channels and sources of information.
When did you start your business?
Rajat – SocioRAC is a technology start-up established in 2017.
What does success mean to your company?
Rajat – For our company, success is making people powerful, productive and profitable, helping them do better in all they do. We help people find information when they need it that saves time and lets them take better decisions. We are hereto make a difference and help people.
How are you performing currently?
Rajat – The pandemic has reinforced the need for a product like HyLyt. This has led to the growth of knowledge management. Our user base has been increasing at a steady rate and we acquired more than a 1000 users in the last 4 months.
What is the biggest risk to your company?
Rajat – The biggest risk is if a big brand decided to go against our patents and introduce some unique features that we already have in their products
What are your plans for the funding?
Rajat – We are currently bootstrapped and now looking to raise investment from investors with strengths in B2B SAAS Enterprise space.
What is the biggest challenge you faced during your start-up setup?
Rajat – The biggest challenge has been to create awareness about our product, its usefulness & benefits. Being a unique startup solving a common everyday problem, making people aware we have a product to solve their problems has been a huge challenge.
What does growth mean to you and your business?
Rajat – The growth would be when people using our products increases across different countries and geographies
How does your product stand different from others in the market?
Rajat – There are some similar products like ours doing parts of what we do. But HyLyt is the only product that offers a complete 360 degree solution for information management. We integrate and have unified information management with innovative ways for managing the information from unlimited app/ data silos and controlling how this is used by the various stakeholders.
Where are your start-up services spread?
Rajat – We have a strong presence in India and working on expanding to the USA.After that maybe UAE & Singapore too.
What does it feel to be the founder of your start-up? How does it feel getting up every morning and getting on to work?
Rajat – I have been part of & set up a few businesses in India though they were not start-ups. It feels amazing to have made a choice of being an entrepreneur with an aim to solve problems that enterprises face.
I wake up every morning with a positive outlook, list of things to do and looking forward to make this company scale up, take it to the next level. Thus in a way, it is a surreal feeling waking up in the morning and reaching closer to my goal.
Where do you see your business standing in the next 5 years?
Rajat – We aim to be the go-to product for people when they think about information management. While most products work vertically,we are working horizontally, which is our USP and gives us a unique place in the minds of the consumer.
Who supports you to stand this business and how?
Rajat – Since we are bootstrapped, there has been a constant support of friends and family in building the company, would be unfair to name anyone. I also have the support of my own convictions, being in the technology industry and understanding data management for a long time. I am in an interesting phase with the kind of support I have received from various stakeholders, whether it’s customers, advisors, or my team members. They have been instrumental in making it easy to drive this forward.
