What made you strike this business idea? What inspired you to start this company?
Kartic – I belong to Assam, and my family has been involved in the Tea industry for 3 generations. In the last 38 years, we have seen this industry closely and have realized that there has been very little improvement/innovation. The way people consume tea has also been the same for over 50 years now. A TeaBag was also introduced to the world about 40 years back. The last innovation in which Instant-Tea was offered was ‘Powdered Instant Tea,’ which was made by a process called Spray Drying.
This made me think about ways by which we could offer good quality tea in a Ready To Drink manner. After months of R&D, Kartic came up with Tea Bro and the concept of ‘Pre-Brewed Tea Liquid Decoction.’

Kartic – Acceptance of our product and the concept. We want to offer the finest quality Instant tea to our tea-loving nation, and if the customers identify our niche and our innovation, it will be a great sense of accomplishment for us.
How are you performing currently?
Kartic – Our product offering is ready and on sale. We have 5 blends of tea with a combination of flavors (Ginger, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Clove, Black Pepper, Nutmeg, etc.). We are selling across online platforms Amazon, Flipkart, Grofers, BigBasket, etc. In addition, we are selling on offline retail outlets (over 50) across NCR. Lastly, we have many institutional sellers – hotels, offices, etc.
Since its launch, the startup has been a tremendous response from Tea connoisseurs, Tea blenders, and tasters about its high quality and Tea innovation.
What is the biggest risk to your company?
Kartic – Our risk is those companies who sell low-quality tea (powdered tea). Their acceptability is only because of price and not quality.
What are your plans for the funding?
Kartic – Raise funds by the end of the year.
What is the biggest challenge you faced during your startup setup?

How does your product stand different from others in the market?
Kartic – Tea Bro is a new category in the instant Tea market– Pre-Brewed Tea Liquid Decoction. The startup controls the entire supply chain of tea farming, right from farming, processing, blending, packaging, retail, and exports. Tea Bro’s teas are handpicked from the finest tea bushes from their manicured gardens. The green tea leaves are then processed from ‘customized machinery’ and finally brewed under perfect conditions (temperature, pressure, pH, time, etc.). The final result is a 10ml tea decoction. By mixing hot water into the tea decoction, it makes the most perfectly balanced cup of tea.

What does it feel like to be the founder of your startup? How does it feel to get up every morning and getting on to work?
